1. Introduction

In Korean, dates are expressed using Sino-Korean numbers + 일 (il), which means “day.”
Just like months, this makes it simple to form dates once you know the numbers.

 


 

2. Basic Date Structure

[Month] + [Day]
Example: 삼월 오일 (samwol oil) = March 5th

일일 (iril) = 1st
이일 (iil) = 2nd
삼일 (samil) = 3rd
사일 (sail) = 4th
오일 (oil) = 5th
십일 (sibil) = 10th
십오일 (siboil) = 15th
이십일 (isipil) = 20th
이십오일 (isiboil) = 25th
삼십일 (samsibil) = 31st
