[GAMETOC] Nexon Unveils The First Descendant’s New Successor “Hailey” – Design and Uniqueness Both Highly Anticipated

Nexon revealed a teaser image for the new successor, “Hailey,” in their game The First Descendant on the 18th.

Nexon stated, “Hailey is a long-range dealer who uses an anti-materiel sniper rifle crafted from frozen moisture. Her story will be featured in Season 1, ‘Invasion,’ which opens on August 29. We hope you’ll look forward to it.”

Hailey’s appearance was first introduced in the Season 1 trailer released on the 17th. In the trailer, she is seen searching a secret base hidden in the snowy mountains. Sliding down from the peak as if on a sled, Hailey recharges her sniper rifle with moisture, leaving a strong impression.

In battle, she initially uses a standard firearm but switches to her sniper rifle when faced with a large number of enemies. Although detailed information hasn’t been revealed yet, it’s expected that her Z skill involves an attack using her sniper rifle.

Hailey’s face was revealed in the teaser image. She sports short brown hair styled in a ponytail, with a classic beauty commonly seen in Western regions. Her strong yet confident expression, fitting for a warrior, adds to her charm.

The teaser also briefly introduced her backstory. Known for her exceptional sniping skills, Hailey discovered during an Ark Factor test that she possesses the “supercooling” ability. This allows her to drastically lower her body temperature and use Ark Clusters instead of bullets.

Upon confirming that she is an Ark Factor bearer, Hailey left her beloved sniper squad and officially became a successor. Even after becoming a successor, Hailey vowed to continue the legacy of her sniper team, known for chanting the 33rd Sniper Squad’s operational command, “Mantra.”
