Dongguk University is a prestigious private university established based on Buddhist philosophy with 116 years of tradition and located at the center of Seoul, a center stage of Korean ancient, modern, and contemporary culture, which allows foreign students to easily enjoy city life and various cultural experiences in Seoul.

The Institute of Korean Language started Korean language education in 2002 and has made a lot of progress so far. In particular, with systematic learning programs for language students and a variety of experiences with Korean culture, we have made tremendous efforts to help foreign students to efficiently acquire the Korean language and culture and adapt to university and social life. From now on, the Institute of Korean Language will aim for the following:

First, we will build a people-oriented community. We will be committed to establishing a community where everyone can empathize with each other through encouragement and respect for students and trust and communication between different members.

Second, we will seek professionalism and academic value in language education. We will conduct academic research and develop pedagogical methodology for Korean language education, introduce the concept of language as a culture, and pursue learner-oriented language education.

Third, we will do our best to increase satisfaction among foreign students. We will continue to improve satisfaction by putting in place a permanent system for professional student counseling and encourage students to voluntarily improve their self-motivation and challenge spirit.

To promote professionalism and academic value in the Institute of Korean Language, we will make our best efforts with 90 faculty and staff members with extensive teaching experience and professionalism. We are looking forward to your interest and support.
