Employment Recommendation Letter
In the context of fostering employment for STEM professionals, engineering fields are generally excluded from the mandatory employment recommendation letter requirement for E-7-1 visas. Therefore, recommendations from KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) and other trade associations are not required.
However, for electrical and electronics engineers, receiving an employment recommendation letter from these institutions can make the visa approval process easier. Particularly, KOTRA (Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy) and the Small and Medium Business Administration (SMBA) can issue employment recommendation letters.
For domestic returning companies, an employment recommendation letter from KOTRA is mandatory.
