Overview

Ewha Language Center(ELC)was established in 1962 as an affiliated language institute to Ewha Womans University.
ELC has supported Ewha Womans University with foreign language education, and started teaching Korean as a foreign language from 1988.

Ewha Language Center, an access point for a variety of cultures and languages, offers programs every season, four times a year in spring, summer, fall and winter. ELC proudly offers the best quality of faculty, text books, and a thorough and caring system for student management.

Every year, approximately 6,000 students cultivate not only their language skills but also their competence as global leaders through Foreign Language Programs, Korean Language Programs, Korean Instructor Training Program, etc. at ELC.

Regular Course

  • This program offers an integrated education of four skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking – with a focus on communication skills, where two teachers take turns to teach one class (team-teaching system). Through this program, students will be able to improve the practical communicative skills by performing tasks close to real-life ones during the class and to maximize their Korean learning ability and improve their understanding of Korean culture through the Culture Classes in relation to the curriculum.

Short-term Program

According to their Korean proficiency, students will be assigned to the beginning, intermediate levels each. This program integrates four language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) and aims to intensively improve learner’s Korean ability in a short period of time in terms of communicative skills. Also, students can maximize their Korean learning ability and improve their understanding of Korean culture through the Culture Classes.
