Overview
Welcome to Tongmyong University’s Korean Language Institute.
Today, the world is interconnected like a single nation, where frequent exchanges, mutual influence, and coexistence have become the norm. In this era of globalization, foreign languages are no longer optional but essential for communication. For overseas Koreans and foreigners whose native language is not Korean, learning Korean presents an opportunity to enhance their communication skills.
Tongmyong University’s Korean Language Institute is an educational institution established to teach Korean to overseas Koreans and foreigners who do not use Korean as their first language. Since 2003, Tongmyong University has been providing Korean language education, developing various programs and materials, and securing a team of specialized instructors.
The Korean Language Institute operates across four terms—spring, summer, fall, and winter—offering students a variety of cultural experiences and club activities. For students aiming to pursue higher education, the institute offers academic counseling programs, Korean language and academic support services, and special classes for the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK). Furthermore, in partnership with the local Multicultural Family Support Center, we have developed programs to support marriage immigrants and children from multicultural families.
Tongmyong University’s Korean Language Institute is committed to providing scientific, systematic, and specialized Korean language and cultural education, opening doors to the world for our students, local residents, and foreigners visiting Korea. We promise to do our utmost to help them achieve their dreams of a successful future. Thank you.
