Shinsung University Shares First-Year Achievements of 2025 RISE Initiative, Strengthening Regional Industry–University Collaboration

Shinsung University (President: Seomyeong Beom) announced that its RISE Project Group successfully held the event titled “Sharing First-Year Educational Innovation Outcomes of the RISE Project: Growing Together with Region and Industry” on February 9 to present the achievements of the first year of the 2025 Regional Innovation System & Education (RISE) initiative.

The performance-sharing event was organized to highlight key accomplishments and best practices developed through collaboration among the university, industry partners, and local government. It also aimed to further advance a regionally anchored, industry-tailored workforce development system.

The program included an overview of Shinsung University’s RISE initiative, a screening of the project performance video, a detailed presentation of first-year results, an appreciation plaque ceremony for participating companies, and awards for outstanding students.

In particular, Shinsung University received positive recognition for implementing practice-oriented curricula aligned with regional industry demand. By enhancing learners’ job competencies in measurable ways and linking education outcomes to professional certifications and employment, the university effectively demonstrated the core objectives of the RISE program in practice.

The university also expanded educational programs for adult learners, supporting incumbent workers and individuals re-entering the workforce after career interruptions. These efforts contributed to establishing a virtuous cycle of regional human resource development.

During the event, the university shared improvement measures and feedback plans derived from the first year of program implementation. For the second year, Shinsung University plans to further enhance educational quality and field relevance by upgrading courses based on learner demand, expanding hands-on training components, and strengthening partnerships with industry.

Professor Lee Soo-geun, Director of the Shinsung University RISE Project Group, stated, “Through the RISE initiative, the university is strengthening its role as an educational hub directly connected to regional industries. We will continue to advance a system in which local universities take responsibility for cultivating the talent required by the region.”
