“Braving the Heavy Rain to Get the Chubby Cat Taro Milk Tea Keychain”
The collaboration between Actoz Soft’s ‘Final Fantasy XIV’ and Gongcha runs from the 17th to August 28th, lasting about six weeks. During the event, visiting Gongcha stores and ordering from the collaboration menu will provide special cups featuring Chubby Cat, Fat Chocobo, and Sabotender.
On the first day of the collaboration, the 17th, I ordered the ‘Chubby Cat Brown Sugar Jewelry Milk Tea’ and the ‘Fat Chocobo Mango Smoothie + Pearls.’ Although I found out about the keychain giveaway event too late on my way back, my initial goal was to collect stamps for a limited mount coupon.
When you order from the collaboration menu, you can accumulate stamps through the official Gongcha app. Collecting three stamps will earn you a coupon for the limited mount item, ‘Porxie King.’ Additionally, at some of the direct stores, ordering over 10,000 KRW including a collaboration menu item will randomly award you one of three Chubby Cat keychains.

Nearby Gongcha stores only had the Chubby Cat cups, so I received the same cup. You can collect stamps by selecting the barcode menu on the top right of the Gongcha official app and presenting it to the staff when paying for the collaboration menu.
Given that Gongcha is a well-known milk tea brand, I had no concerns about the taste of the collaboration menu. The Brown Sugar Milk Tea and Mango Smoothie tasted exactly as expected—sweet and refreshing, with the chewy pearls adding to the pleasant experience. Especially since the weather was humid, the cool and sweet drink was much appreciated.
On the rainy afternoon of the 18th, around noon, I visited the Gongcha Gangnam. Some locations had already sold out of keychains by the afternoon of the 17th, as there were no purchase restrictions. I was worried there might not be any left, but luckily, there were plenty at the Gangnam flagship store.
I chose the ‘Sabotender Jeju Green Smoothie,’ which I hadn’t tried before, and a croissant sandwich to reach the 10,000 KRW minimum. The keychain was given randomly, and I was thrilled to get the Chubby Cat keychain in taro milk tea color, which I wanted the most. The keychain quality was excellent, with liquid inside that sloshes around and pearls that move, making it look much better in person.

Each store has a limited number of keychains, and they will not be restocked once they run out. If you’re aiming for a keychain, I recommend visiting quickly. You can check SNS or user communities for information on keychain availability.
Overall, I was satisfied with the collaboration between Final Fantasy XIV and Gongcha, as the menu items were delicious, and the keychain quality was high. However, I felt that a purchase limit would have allowed more fans to get the beautiful keychains and be happy.
There were also complaints from players in provincial areas who found it difficult to participate since the keychain giveaway event was only held at some direct stores. A friend of mine asked me to make a purchase for them after I had already returned home, so I couldn’t help them. Hopefully, next time there will be a collaboration that everyone can enjoy together.
