Inje University Accelerates Regional Innovation with Human-Centered AI Vision ‘A44A’

Inje University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation announced that Inje University (President: Jeon Min-hyun) has officially declared a new human-centered AI vision, “A44A (AI for 4 As),” marking a significant step toward accelerating regional innovation beyond technological efficiency and toward people-centered transformation.

The university hosted “AI Day,” where it formally proclaimed its AI vision and ethical charter while unveiling the achievements of student-led regional problem-solving initiatives linked to the government-supported RISE program.

The event was organized under the slogan “Advanced Intelligence beyond Artificial Intelligence,” emphasizing that the university’s AI transformation (AX) is not limited to adopting technologies on campus but is committed to realizing human values in partnership with the local community.

A44A: Four Strategic Pillars Guiding the RISE Initiative

Through the declaration, Inje University introduced four core principles under the A44A framework, aligning AI implementation with the RISE program’s goals of cultivating regionally rooted talent and strengthening industry–academia–government collaboration.

• AI for All Awareness: Ensuring equitable access to AI education so that technological advancement does not widen opportunity gaps. The university aims to create an educational environment where all members of society can fairly utilize AI and understand its risks responsibly.

• AI for Augmentation: Establishing AI as a supportive tool that enhances rather than replaces human capabilities, fostering a culture of human-centered AI utilization.

• AI for Analogue: Moving beyond efficiency to safeguard human dignity and values, promoting what the university describes as “warm intelligence.”

• AI for All-City: Extending university knowledge beyond campus boundaries to address regional industrial and urban challenges, thereby building a people-centered intelligent innovation community.

From Vision to Action: ABC Student Initiative Gains Attention

The university emphasized that the A44A vision is already translating into tangible outcomes. During the performance showcase, results from the student-led project “ABC (AI Bigbang Crew),” operated as part of the RISE initiative, were presented.

Notable projects included a six-legged vision AI system designed to identify survivors at disaster sites and a locally themed AI-driven exploration program titled “Exploring Oreutteul with Todeogi.” These initiatives demonstrated how technology can address real regional issues while embodying the “warm AI” philosophy articulated in the A44A vision.

President Jeon Min-hyun: “Warm Innovation Shared with the Region”

In his keynote address, President Jeon Min-hyun stated, “Inje University will not place technology at the forefront alone. Instead, we aim to expand the depth of humanity alongside AI and open the future of our region and cities together.”

He further emphasized the university’s commitment to dismantling institutional boundaries and sharing AI resources with regional industries and communities, pledging continued innovation that broadens access to learning opportunities for all in connection with the RISE program.
