KFS offers Elementary through High School students a modern education with high academic standards that foster an appreciation and awareness of the world around them.

Accredited by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education (SMOE), the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), Korea Foreign School is an affiliated member of the East Asia Regional Council for Overseas Schools (EARCOS), the Korea Council of Overseas Schools (KORCOS) and Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) Measures of Academic Progress (MAP). Korea Foreign School is currently an authorized IB World School for the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP)* and a Cambridge International School offering Cambridge Secondary Programs from G6-10 and the Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) Diploma Program for Grade 11-12 students.

Korea Foreign School teaches students a broad and balanced curriculum, which has three basic elements: content, skills, and assessment. In PYP, KFS adopted the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and the National Standards for Social Studies, which all call for higher-level thinking in our core content areas. KFS teaches subjects: English, Maths, Science, Social Studies, Performing Arts, Physical Education, Art, Korean, Spanish, Design, and  Technology.

All students at KFS take the NWEA MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) test two times a year in September and April.

*Only schools authorized by the International Baccalaureate can offer any of its academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme or the IB Career-related Certificate (IBCC).

Student Life

Korea Foreign School offers a wide variety of clubs. We are proud to present an assortment of clubs that are geared towards our students’ interests and that is focused on integrating technology as well as applying and honing skill sets for various levels.

After School Activities form an important element of our education. Good education is very much about good balance, offering students the opportunity to enrich their school life in various ways both academic and non-academic. Clubs are an integral part of the school curriculum. All the students are expected to participate without exception unless they are sick or medically unfit.

Our clubs are once a week, on every Wednesday from 2:05 p.m to 2:55 p.m, where teachers are responsible for leading the activities. At the end of the semester, students are able to switch to new clubss to give the opportunity to participate in new classes.
